BHIM App Banks – List of Supported Banks in India

The biggest factor that makes the BHIM App number one digital payment application is bank to bank money transfer functionality it is based on. It eliminates the need of loading money in an e-wallet to make transactions. Almost every other government and private sector bank is included in the app that can be used to link with the App. Moreover, other banks that are not included in current list will be added soon as claimed by the government.

Given it is an application developed by NPCI it is based on UPI platform that makes it super secure and user friendly as well. If you want to give it a try, please go to Google PlayStore to download BHIM App and install it on your mobile phone. The aforementioned list of banks that are provided support in BHIM App is going to be updated as soon as new banks are added. It is expected that almost every bank authorized and licensed by Reserve Bank of India will be added in the app sooner or later in next releases of updates.

The biggest impact of BHIM App would be on mobile e-wallet applications. Reason for that it is developed by the government which makes it more secure and reliable for sending and receiving money. It’s a bank to bank transfer interface, therefore no wallet system is required to make transactions between receiver and sender.

Even though e-wallet apps provide an extra security layer, but they also charge you more per transaction. That said, BHIM works on bank to bank transfer functionality and it is not merchant to merchant transfer like eWallet apps work. On the other side, money transfer is instantly done, so there is no waiting period.

It is expected that in future updates, BHIM App will be linked and connected to Aadhaar system which is going to be a great move because then the App won’t even require a mobile number for verification and functional aspects. Transaction can be made with just the thumb impression of the user. Eventually, internet connectivity will only be required once to download the app for the first time in a mobile, and then it won’t be required to make transactions.
